about. Autobiography of the Body is the early phase of a multiform dance project that will lead to an immersive dance production, experiential workshops, and a photography/visual media exhibition that explores and celebrates the experiences of intergenerational bodies.

The concept behind Autobiography of the Body is to ask questions about what histories our bodies hold that we might not remember. We experience the same things but in completely unique and individual ways. These moments or life events such as adolescence, taking a fall, arriving in a new place, ecstatic laughter, joy, love, we share but don’t relate to in the same way to each other. By looking at these, we aim to bring about connections and empathy between people, across ages, genders, cultures and languages, as we reveal stories of our places in the world. The eventual work will challenge perceptions of intergenerational bodies in a world that is very youth focused.
